چکیده
Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) has many complications associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Cardiovascular are one of these serious complications. Therefore, there is a need for early effective management to hamper them. This study aimed evaluate the cardioprotective efficacy metformin myoinositol combination through exploring underlying mechanisms in type DM rat model. Methods: model was induced rats by streptozotocin high-fat diet. Rats were treated (150 mg/kg) and/or (50 oral gavage once daily 4 weeks. Immunohistochemistry used assess drugs’ estimating troponin T, nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB) tumor necrosis alpha (TNF-alpha). Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay utilized investigate peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPARalpha) glucose transporter (GLUT-4) expression levels skeletal muscles, respectively. Results: found that GLUT-4 PPARalpha overexpression, together better lipid profile than alone diabetic rats. Additionally, both drugs improved C decreased creatine kinase MB isoenzyme, NF-kappaB TNF-alpha cardiac levels. Conclusion: The current indicated had effect DM. favorable exhibited upregulation receptors thus increasing insulin sensitivity improving profile. Role of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha and gamma in antiangiogenic effect of pomegranate peel extract
Objective(s): Herbal medicines are promising cancer preventive candidates. It has been shown that Punica granatum L. could inhibit angiogenesis and tumor invasion. In this study, we investigated whether the anti-angiogenic effect of pomegranate peel extract (PPE) is partly attributable to Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) activation in the Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cell...

Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Alpha Target Genes
The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) is a ligand-activated transcription factor involved in the regulation of a variety of processes, ranging from inflammation and immunity to nutrient metabolism and energy homeostasis. PPARα serves as a molecular target for hypolipidemic fibrates drugs which bind the receptor with high affinity. Furthermore, PPARα binds and is activated...

Introduction: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is known as a metabolic, reproductive and ovarian degeneration disorder. Pro12 Ala mutation in peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) gene as a transcription factor is linked to disorder of glucose and infertility. In the patients with type 2 diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome, metformin is the recommended first-line treatme...
